Serves as a professional archeologist at the Yuma Proving Ground.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Perform work and provide technical advice relative to National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), Archeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), and applicable implementing regulations.

Assist with management of the computerized cultural resource research and curation database.

Review training, testing, construction projects and other activities for potential impacts to cultural resources.

Identify and evaluate cultural resources for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), to include working with Tribes for identification of Properties of Traditional, Religious, and Cultural Importance (PTRCI).

Use geographic information system (GIS) technology to collect field data and uses computer programs to create report quality graphics. Reviews and edits contractor reports and delivered services.

Review and provide comments on management plans, regulations, and project proposals prepared by other Directorate and installation personnel and activities.

Prepare input for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation.
