A land of superlatives, Death Valley is THE hottest place on earth, and also one of the lowest and driest. In-Park staff live in a caring community of employees who share many of the same values or commute from a nearby community such as Beatty, NV or Pahrump, NV. A vanshare program may be available for candidates in Pahrump, NV. Death Valley is a quiet place to live and yet one can find all the amenities needed within an hour drive. The nearest school is a part of the Death Valley Unified School District in Shoshone, California which services K-12th grade. Bus service is available for students in the park. Off duty employees also enjoy attending regional events in Las Vegas or Los Angeles, exploring the local desert roads/trails/peaks, camping in surrounding high elevation forest land, skiing in Mammoth, and recreating in Yosemite and Sequoia. The Park values co-management with the Timbisha Shoshone Tribe and candidates that join our team can expect to work with the local THPO and tribal monitors. It's a big park (3.4 million acres!) with a small park vibe. Come join us!
