Performs various assignments and support functions related to the cultural resources program.
Prepares or reviews cultural resource sections for Reclamation's National Environmental Policy Act compliance documents, such as categorical exclusions and environmental assessments.
Assists members of the cultural resources branch in conducting field inventories and evaluations of identified properties to meet Reclamation needs for identification and evaluation of cultural resource properties affected by its actions.
Prepares site records, cultural resources reports, and geographic information system graphic products either, as assigned, or to assist others in the cultural resources branch to document the above studies.
Develops and provides GIS mapping support to the Cultural Resources Branch, including production of maps, processing of data collected in the field, storage of data, conversion of digital data in various formats, and the conversion of maps from analog to digital form through the use of appropriate hardware and software.
Reviews and comments on contractor archeological reports and other documents.
Coordinates or collaborates with archeologists of private industry and other agencies, as well as State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) and the Advisory Council of Historic Preservation (Council), in accomplishing various program functions, as assigned by the Regional Cultural Resources Officer.
