Perform varied goals and objectives in support of Morongo Tribal Historic Preservation Office/Cultural Resources program; assist in research, development, and operations of tribal cultural resources protections for the Morongo community on the reservation and ancestral lands; assist in maintaining consultation, project files, and data entry; assist in contract preparation, project invoicing and monitor check requests; and assist in building and maintaining the Morongo Collections and Cultural Resources database.

  • Associate’s degree with three years of increasingly responsible cultural resources/archaeological experience with previous experience and interest in the cultivation and preservation of Native American heritage.
  • Or Bachelor’s degree with one year of increasingly responsible cultural resources/archaeological experience with previous experience and interest in the cultivation and preservation of Native American heritage.
  • Knowledge of the California laws and regulations [i.e Assembly Bill 52 (AB 52), Assembly Bill 168 (AB 168), Assembly Bill 2022 (AB 2022), Senate Bill 18 (SB 18), Cultural Resources Assessment (CRA)]
  • Knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (NHPA)
  • Maintain a current insurable driver’s license & insurability on company policy.
  • The ability to conduct research, write and communicate effectively is required.
  • Solid acknowledge of Microsoft Office applications is essential.
