The Great Basin Institute is hiring a Project Records Management CRS Associate to work cooperatively with Chaco Culture National Historical Park (CHCU) and Aztec Ruins National Monument (AZRU) staff to support the parks’ records management activities. The primary role of the position is to coordinate the effort to build an integrated, functional and sustainable records management program for the two administratively combined parks, under supervision of the parks’ Administrative Officer, and working closely with the IT Specialist, Archivist, and established parks’ records management committee. The associate will work with each of the parks’ six operational divisions to assist with establishing file plans based on National Park Service (NPS) guidance and requirements; inventory, classify and assist park staff to manage physical and electronic records and information according to the Federal General Records Schedules and the National Park Service/Department of the Interior records schedule. The associate will coordinate preparation of permanent records for transfer to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Electronic Records Archive and properly dispose of temporary records which have reached their disposition. The associate will develop Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) and other park specific learning aids and trainings to help park staff implement and maintain appropriate workflows for the management of records and information moving forward.
Duty station is at the NPS HIbben Center at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Occasional day trips may occur to Chaco Culture NHP and Aztec Ruins National Monument.
