PAR Environmental Services, Inc., a woman-owned Cultural Resources Management firm, is currently accepting resumes for two Archaeological Technicians. One position will be on call on a job to job basis while the other is a six month full time contract position with office and fieldwork responsibilities. We perform projects throughout California including the Sierra Nevada, Central Valley, Northern California, Foothills, and Bay Area. Candidate must be willing to travel to project locations from PAR’s main office in Sacramento. Project durations typically range from several days to full ten day rotations during the field season (May-November). Dependant on workload in the winter season, the position has the potential to extend past the Fall.
Candidates must be comfortable with strenuous hiking and difficult climate conditions. They must be knowledgeable of basic California history and prehistory, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, have the ability to identify prehistoric and historical artifacts and cultural features, possess a valid driver’s license, possess or be nearing completion on a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, and work efficiently and amicably with agencies, Native American groups, construction crews, and PAR crews.
Job Responsibility and Roles:
PAR provides training to candidates new to the field.
Compensation will be hourly wages based on experience, with a 23 to 28-dollar hourly wage range. A copy of the applicant’s driving record from the DMV will be required upon hiring.
